Supply-Chain Risk Mitigation & Securing Trade Lanes

Supply-Chain Risk Assessment

The US C-TPAT program, Singapore's Secure Trade Partnership, and the EU's AEO program are just three examples of an increasing number of supply-chain security programs increasingly demanded by government as the price for facilitation of the consignments of companies engaged in the international supply chain. These programs are based on the principle that companies which demonstrate compliance with recognized security (and in some cases customs compliance) standards, and which have undergone a validation process, are deserving of a recognized secure trader status which brings with it eligibility for a number of trade facilitation programs.

Many governments are also working on mitigation of risk in the international supply chain, whether by mandatory security requirements for port operators, by secure trade lane pilot programs, or by voluntary programs for traders. The Trusted Trade Alliance team includes professionals well-versed in the requirements of these programs, experienced in implementing them in some of the largest companies operating in the largest ports globally. Our services begin with assisting our client in self-assessment, evaluating and profiling the company's activities, identifying areas of weakness, and advising the client on any measures required to achieve the pre-requisites of the programs of focus. We have also assisted numerous clients with reviewing their programs prior to a government inspection/validation to ensure compliance with the latest updated program requirements.

As an example, a Trusted Trade Alliance AEO self-assessment review includes a preview of the steps Customs focuses on during their validation visits in order to prepare the client and ensure a positive outcome. A review of port facilities and operations, logistics service provider operations, or carrier operations can be much more rigorous, depending on the location and activities under scrutiny by the authorities. With our global network, we have the ability to evaluate and validate compliance with security and supply-chain risk mitigation programs anywhere in the world.
